Mission
Rebuild the website for a downtown Santa Barbara photo and video studio so the space sells on sight, and turn the local searches it already showed up in into visits.
Challenge
Summit Studios, founded by Jesse and Maxwell, rents a 1,600 square foot shooting stage with a corner RGB cyc wall in downtown Santa Barbara. The old Squarespace site showed it in small photos inside a standard template. People searching for Summit by name found it. Broader searches were a different picture. From June 29 to September 28, 2026, "studio santa barbara" averaged position 10.4 in Google and "santa barbara video production" 33.9, and neither earned a click. Summit also makes video and had no page that said so. And Google was treating summitsb.com and www.summitsb.com as two sites, with the homepage at 5.9 on one and 18.8 on the other.
Process
We kept the name, the logo and the "Lights. Camera. Summit." line, and rebuilt everything around them in our own code on Next.js. The design is dark and cinematic, with Summit's own photography running full-bleed and scroll and hover motion that steps aside for visitors who have reduced motion turned on. The Studio page carries the spec sheet, equipment rental, the floorplan, Jesse and Maxwell's story and a filterable gallery, and video production got a page of its own. The homepage shows the brands that shoot at Summit, Apple and Disney among them, and the studio's five-star Google reviews word for word. Booking runs through a quote form that lands in Summit's inbox, with tap-to-call throughout. Nine Insights articles cover what producers look up before a shoot, from studio rates to cyc walls. The site launched on October 22 at summitsb.com, the version Google ranked higher, with www and every old Squarespace address redirecting to the right new page. We also ran Summit's Meta ads, a low-budget traffic campaign pointed at the Studio page. From September 21 to October 20, 2026, it brought 743 visits at about six cents each. The ad data cannot show how many of those visits became bookings, so we are not claiming any.
